Mission
Our Mission:
When considering a mission, it is important to think about not only where you want to go, but where you've come from.
Bonza Bodies is, if anything, merely an extension upon a journey for Jamie and Taryn Atlas. Both have worked in the fitness industry for many years, both have been parts of rewarding and life-changing fitness environments. But both saw a need for something.
They saw a need for a change in attitude.
if you were to ask what a gym does, the answer might be related to lifestyle changes, physical changes or activity improvement. But these are all pointless without a change in attitude.
Bonza's mission can be summed up in a short paragraph:
It is our mission to:
- Create an environment that is free of judgement and/or worry of what others might be thinking about one's abilities, performance or appearance.
- Release the fear of judgment wrapped around exercise and doing movements or activities one is not familiar with
- Spark a sense of challenge against one's self that leads to celebration of one's own personal achievement or improvement, unrelated to any other participants achievements or improvements.
- Foster a community of quality human beings that can work hard and call it play, sweat hard and call it fun, encourage others and call it "just a part of how we do things here".
If you're a part of Bonza Bodies, we'd like to thank you for being a part of our community and helping us to build on this mission.
For too long, fitness and working out has been a fear-based, emotionally charged experience encased in judgement and lowered spirits.
We'd like to see that change. And with the help of people like the good members at Bonza, we think it's possible.
